Wedding Planner Playa del Carmen
Start planning today
Playa del Carmen is Mexico’s most vibrant coastal town — a place where boutique elegance, ancient cenotes, and turquoise waters come together to create weddings unlike anywhere else on earth.
Why Playa del carmen?
While Cancun is known for its large resorts, Playa del Carmen offers a more intimate and authentic destination wedding experience. Colonial streets, hidden rooftop venues, beachfront terraces, and jungle cenotes create a setting that feels both elegant and uniquely Mexican.
As a wedding planner in Playa del Carmen, we have spent more than a decade building relationships with the area’s top venues and trusted vendors. From beachfront ceremonies in Playacar to private garden celebrations near Quinta Avenida, we help couples discover locations and experiences that go beyond the typical destination wedding.
Whether you’re planning an intimate gathering or a larger celebration, Playa del Carmen combines natural beauty, local charm, and unforgettable scenery to create a wedding experience unlike any other.

Playa del carmen
Unlike resort-only destinations, Playa del Carmen is a living, breathing town. Your guests explore artisan markets, dine at chef-driven restaurants, and feel the real pulse of Mexico’s Caribbean coast.
The Yucatán Peninsula’s underground cenote system reaches its most accessible and visually dramatic form around Playa del Carmen — offering ceremony backdrops of otherworldly natural beauty.
From converted haciendas and rooftop pool terraces to beachfront bohemian estates, Playa’s venue landscape rewards couples seeking intimacy and individuality over grand-scale uniformity.
La Quinta Avenida hosts one of the most diverse and celebrated dining strips in Latin America. Your wedding dinner can be a genuine culinary event — not just a banquet menu.
Playa del Carmen sits at the heart of the Riviera Maya, just 45 minutes from Cancún International Airport and within easy reach of Tulum, Akumal, Cobá, and the region’s most spectacular sites.
Snorkeling the Mesoamerican Reef, visiting Mayan ruins, swimming in cenotes, exploring Cozumel by ferry — your guests will never run out of things to do before, during, and after your wedding week.
Where we celebrate
Years of working in Playa del Carmen means access, relationships, and an insider knowledge of which venues truly deliver on their promises.
Cancún is defined by its large all-inclusive resort infrastructure — ideal for couples who want a grand-scale event with hotel group rates and built-in wedding packages. Playa del Carmen offers a more diverse and intimate venue landscape: boutique hotels, private villas, rooftop terraces, cenotes, and eco-parks. The town has authentic character that larger resort destinations lack, and vendors here tend to be more flexible and personally invested. If you want your wedding to feel unique rather than "resort-standard," Playa del Carmen is typically the better choice.
Yes. Civil marriages in Playa del Carmen are legally performed by the local Registro Civil and recognized internationally in most countries. Required documents include valid passports, apostilled birth certificates translated into Spanish, a Mexican blood test (done locally within 15 days of the ceremony), and two adult witnesses. We manage the entire legal process — checklist, translations, appointments, and registration — so you never have to navigate Mexican bureaucracy on your own.
There are dozens of cenotes within 30 minutes of Playa del Carmen, ranging from open-top swimming holes to dramatic semi-enclosed caverns with stalactites and bioluminescent water. The best cenote for your ceremony depends on your guest count, ceremony style, and aesthetic preference. We work with a private curated list of cenotes — some not publicly accessible — and will recommend the right one after understanding your vision. We handle all permits, access arrangements, and setup logistics.
Playa del Carmen is approximately 65 km south of Cancún International Airport — about 45 to 60 minutes by car depending on traffic. We coordinate private airport transfers, shared shuttle services, and ADO bus options for guests arriving at different times. We can also help guests flying into the smaller Cozumel airport (a 35-minute ferry from Playa) or the regional Playa del Carmen helipad for truly VIP arrivals.
November through April is the ideal wedding season in Playa del Carmen, with warm, dry weather, consistently clear skies, and comfortable humidity levels (22–29°C / 72–84°F). December through February is peak season for international couples and offers the most reliable weather. May through October sees increasing humidity and the possibility of tropical storms — if you must wed during this period, we strongly recommend an indoor or covered venue option as a contingency.
